Have you ever heard the expression, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with just one step.”?
Most people never take the first step because they can’t see how all the other subsequent steps are going to work out. They are intimidated or fearful of the obstacles and challenges that may present themselves along the journey. They become victims of the “paralysis of analysis”, and they never even try to move forward.
Stop looking at the whole journey. You can only take one step at a time anyway. So, today muster up enough strength and courage to take just one step. And tomorrow, you will only need enough strength to take one more step. And so on…
I am amazed by what happens once you take that first step! It seems that a host of people, resources and information show up to assist you, almost as if they’ve been waiting for years for you to make a move.
So, take that first step. You’ll be surprised at who, and what, shows up to help you make it the rest of the way!
“Take the first step, and your mind will mobilize all its forces to your aid. But the first essential is that you begin. Once the battle is started, all that is within and without you will come to your assistance.” – Robert Collier
